Anyone that loves Halloween has seen John Carpenter’s original Halloween (1978). Do you remember the Jack-O-Lantern during the introduction? I personally thought it was the coolest and freakiest jack-o-lantern I had ever seen and wanted to bring it back to life. I popped in the Blu-Ray version of the film and paused it right as the pumpkin was at its largest and snapped a picture of it. I brought the image into Adobe Photoshop and did some magic on it to isolate the cut out part of the pumpkin. I cleaned it up a little bit and saved it. It was very easy to carve and came out exactly like the one from the film! Download it now and start carving! Happy Halloween!

The image below was taken with a Nikon D80 and a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G lens. The pumpkin was positioned on some hay with a smoke machine behind it. I took a flood lamp with a red light bulb and pointed it up into the smoke. I had an Alien Bee 800 strobe as the keylight. I love shooting Halloween images!
